About Me

I’m Mark Epstein, a member of Generation X living in Columbus, Ohio. I am not a professional movie reviewer, but an informed fan. I have learned about movies by seeing a lot of them, and I do mean a lot. Since I saw a re-release of Mary Poppins when I was four years old, I have seen well over 1,000 movies, probably more like 2,000, maybe more. I’ve never counted. One thing I am certain of is that I’ve seen and I like movies of all genres and periods. If it’s entertaining, I’ll probably watch it, but sometimes I won’t. On the other hand, some of my favorite movies are not critic’s darlings; just movies I like. I also have read a lot about movies and I’ve known people in the business. So, aside from the fact that I’m not in the movie business myself, I’ve only taken one screenwriting class, and you have no idea who I am, I think you can benefit from reading my opinions. If nothing else, you might be entertained. In case you don’t feel like reading my longer reviews and essays, you should at least go right to my ratings and brief review pages.
